Still Sounds: Scotland Street School Remembers

Margaret’s film opened on Thursday 7th June 2018, the 150th anniversary of world-renowned architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh's birth. It showed at Scotland Street School Museum from June 2018 to March 2020.

Scotland Street School Remembers brought to life memories of former pupils who attended the Mackintosh designed school between the late 1920s and the school's closure in 1979.

In the film former pupils recalled life at the Kingston school through wartime and up to the fragmentation of the surrounding community following redevelopment of the area in the 1960s and 70s.

Scotland Street School Remembers was the third instalment of Margaret's wider Still Sounds project which charted the social history of the school and local community at home, work and war during the last century.
